Scottish stars Biffy Clyro have surprised rock critics in the U.K. after beating favourites Muse to land the Best Live Band honour at the NME Awards on Wednesday night (23Feb11).
The rock trio beat Muse, Kasabian, Arcade Fire and Foals to claim the prize, which was presented to the group by actress/rocker Juliette Lewis and Miles Kane.
Other early winners include My Chemical Romance, who took home Best Video for Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na), while Hurts triumphed over Liam Gallagher's new group Beady Eye to be named Best New Band and Laura Marling scored Best Solo Artist at the ceremony, which is taking place at London's O2 Academy in Brixton.
