Country star BILLY CURRINGTON has surrendered to police in Georgia a day after he was indicted on charges stemming from an alleged altercation with an elderly man.

The singer is facing allegations of making terroristic threats and abusing an elderly person following a bust-up with a 70-year-old tour boat captain in the state on 15 April (13).

A warrant was issued for his arrest after he was indicted in his absence on Wednesday (24Apr13), and Currington turned himself in to authorities in Chatham County on Thursday (25Apr13).

He was officially arrested and processed before being released on $25,000 (£15,625) bail, according to Savannahnow.com.

Currington faces up to 10 years behind bars if convicted on both charges. His next court hearing has yet to be set.
