Blake Lively gets fashion advice from Karl Lagerfeld and Christian Louboutin.

Although the 'Gossip Girl' star - who is the face of CHANEL's Mademoiselle handbag line - has always insisted she doesn't use a stylist for red carpet events preferring to choose her own clothes, she admitted she does call on The Fashion legends when she has a sartorial dilemma.

Speaking at the Met Costume Institute Gala where she wore a Chanel dress, Blake said: "Christian helped me pick out my shoes...He's a good friend and somebody I trust incredibly. He's the closest thing that I say I have to a stylist. There are few people that I ask - Karl, Christian."

Blake also revealed she and Karl had their own unusual way of preparing for the Costume Institute Gala, which paid tribute to the late Alexander McQueen.

She said: "Before we came tonight, Karl and I met at a diner where we saw a bunch of 80 year olds. We just had tea and took pictures."

Blake has previously admitted she was "intimidated" when she first met Karl because of his "genius".

She said: "I was wildly intimated. He's an incredibly intimidating person because he's so accomplished and he's such a genius, but the moment you meet him, he doesn't try to intimidate you. He's so kind and humble and alive and passionate. I love and respect him so much."
