Blake Shelton has backed his wife Miranda Lambert in her on-going feud with R&B star Chris Brown, which began on the night of the Grammys (February 12, 2012) when the country songstress questioned Brown's award-win following his conviction for assault.
Tweeting during the show, Lambert aired her disappointment that Brown had walked away with a gong just three years after he assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna before the awards show. A fiery Chris Brown responded to Miranda's claims, saying, "Using my name to get publicity? I love it! Perform your heart out! Go buy Miranda Lambert album! So motivational and 'Perfect'!". The feud certainly didn't surprise one man - Lambert's husband Blake Shelton who told MTV News at Cosmopolitan's Fun Fearless Awards, "Miranda's always [outspoken]. If there's anybody that should be getting a fun, fearless award it's Miranda. She's not afraid to speak her mind". Following Brown's comeback, Lambert spoke about the R&B singer during one of her concerts in February, telling her fans, "I just have to speak my mind, because where I come from, beating up on a woman is never OK. So that's why my daddy taught me early on in life how to use a shotgun".
