Soul singer MARY J. BLIGE is embroiled in a lawsuit over a 2008 car crash, after one of her associates was allegedly involved in a traffic accident in New York City.
Songwriter LaNeah Menzies, who worked with Blige on her track I Can See in Color, was driving a luxury Bentley owned by the singer's Mary Jane Productions company when it collided with a Honda in Manhattan on 9 December 2008.
Passenger William Herrera, who was travelling in the Honda, has filed suit over the crash and he's named both Blige's company and Menzies as defendants.
The lawsuit, filed at Queens Supreme Court on Wednesday (09Dec09), does not detail the severity of Herrera's injuries following the incident. No others details were available as WENN went to press.
Menzies, who is signed to Blige's Universal Music Group imprint Matriarch, also co-wrote Kanye West's hit track Love Lockdown.
