Opera star Andrea Bocelli serenaded his baby daughter in the delivery room just moments after her birth.
The blind Italian tenor, who is father to two teenage sons from a previous relationship, welcomed a little girl called Virginia with his current partner Veronica Berti last month (Mar12).
The couple has shown off the little girl in a new spread for Britain's Hello! magazine, and Bocelli reveals he sang Ange Adorable from Romeo and Juliet when he went into the delivery room to hold his daughter for the first time.
He says, "We heard the applause when Virginia came out," and Berti adds, "When Andrea held her, Virginia had her eyes wide open, like she was watching him."
The singer also admits he is opting out of diaper-changing duties, but will happily sing his little girl to sleep every night: "It's not so interesting for me to change the pannolino (diapers)... My job is to sing her to sleep."
