Rockers Bon Jovi's upcoming gig at the home of American football team the Cleveland Browns in Ohio has been scrapped.

The Livin' on a Prayer hitmakers were set to take to the stage on 14 July (13) at the team's FirstEnergy Stadium to kick off the Browns' 2013 season, but football bosses have now called off the show.

Officials have given no reason for the cancellation, but have vowed to refund ticket holders.

The axed date comes amid tension in the band between frontman Jon Bon Jovi and guitarist Richie Sambora, who pulled out of the European and South African legs of the group's Because We Can world tour due to a "personal matter".
