The Bon Jovi home burglary suspect has admitted to breaking into the rocker's Jersey Shore residence and could face up to five years in prison for the offence. Nicholas Tracy, 22, hadn't only turned over the rocker's palatial home, either; he admitted to three counts of theft on his illicit burglary spree. Tracy netted over $300,000 worth of jewellery and personal items from the robberies and yesterday (September 4, 2012), he appeared in court to face judgement for his crimes.
Tracy's thefts all took place on the Middletown Township road where Bon Jovi lives, between March 14 and April 3, 2011. Ten days after the last of those burglaries, local police responded to another report of a burglary in the same area and caught Tracy in the act, according to Associated Press. The Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni declined to comment on exactly what had been taken from the rocker's home but court papers have alleged that jewellery worth around $100,000 was amongst the items missing. It is also unclear which of the stolen items were recovered, though police have stated that some of the items were found after the robberies.
The thief will have to wait until October 12, 2012 to hear his sentence but it looks as though he could face up to five years in prison, under terms of a plea deal. He is also awaiting trial on several other counts of burglary, from Toms River earlier this year.
