Cher - Bono, Poehler And Spelling Front New Anti-bullying Ads
Cher's transgender son Chaz Bono and actresses Amy Poehler, Rashida Jones and Tori Spelling are fronting a new advertising campaign against gay bullying.
Former Saved By The Bell hunk Mario Lopez, Milk screenwriter Dustin Lance Black and basketball icon Shaquille O'Neal have also filmed public service announcements (PSAs) on behalf of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (Glaad)'s joint venture with the American Federation of Teachers.
The Amplify Your Voice ads all feature the slogan, "No matter who you are, you have the power to make a difference."
The PSAs have been released in the U.S. ahead of Spirit Day on 20 October (11), when people are encouraged to show their support for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youth by wearing the colour purple.
