Brad Pitt has stunned fans by declaring that he intends to quit acting within "three years" - the revelation occurring on Australian TV show '60 Minutes' - and though he was initially vague about what he did indeed intend to do once he hit 50 (he's currently 47) he's now expanded further, talking at a press conference in Singapore and saying that growing older wasn't a worry for him.
The Press Association reports that on '60 Minutes,' the actor said he was instead looking more towards a career in production after an acting career that's lasted over two decades long. "I am really enjoying the producing side and development of stories and putting those pieces together," he explained, "And getting stories to the plate that might have had a tougher time otherwise." In Seoul however, the UK's Daily Telegraph reports that he has since clarified his words, saying "I wasn't actually putting an exact deadline on my expiration date [in Australia's 60 Minutes interview], but I see it coming. I just have other interests and I do quite enjoy the production side."
Though some would say that Pitt may have not always fulfilled the talent he showed upon his breakthrough role in 1991's Geena Davis-starring 'Thelma & Louise', roles in 'Fight Club', the huge commercial success of 'Troy' - not to mention 1994's 'Seven' - are among many that've proved him one of the best male lead actors of the past generation. His departure from in-front of the camera would be sad indeed.
