Rocker Brandon Flowers has confirmed his band The Killers will be back this year (12) with their first album in four years.
The singer released his own record, Flamingo, in 2010 after the band went on hiatus earlier in the year (10) following a tour of its 2008 album Day & Age.
Flowers revealed he was "winding down" his solo career to concentrate on his kids following the birth of his third child last year (11).
Now he has announced the Mr. Brightside hitmakers are preparing for a chart return and have already recorded several new tracks.
He tells Radio 1's Zane Lowe, "It's just whether it's (released in) the summertime or the wintertime. It's just exciting getting everyone in the room to make some noise. It's quite a bit louder than with my solo thing, so I've got to get used to that."
Flowers insists the new disc will be a mix of all their best work, adding, "I think the consensus within the band is to take those things that we've done well and really hone in on that.
"We don't want to make (first album) Hot Fuss 2 or (second album) Sam's Town 2, or (third album) Day & Age 2. We'll maybe take all that stuff, the best of all of it and do what we know how to do."
