The latest installment of hit vampire franchise Twilight continues to slay the competition at the U.S. box office after grossing $42 million (£26.25 million) in its second week on release.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1, starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, remained the most popular movie among Americans over the Thanksgiving weekend (25-27Nov11), boosting its domestic total to date to $221.3 million (£138.31 million).
The film continues to draw the crowds worldwide too - weekend box office sales outside the U.S. grossed $71.5 million (£44.69 million).
Meanwhile, Jason Segel's new family movie The Muppets debuts on the U.S. chart at two with $29.5 million (£18.44 million).
Happy Feet Two, Arthur Christmas and Hugo round out the top five.
