BRET MICHAELS, the frontman of glam mental band Poison, is to put some of his 'Celebrity Apprentice' experience to the test by launching his own line of rock and roll inspired pet products. Michaels has joined forces with 'PetSmart' to release his 'Pets Rock' range of dog bowls, collars, leashes and other products, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The singer will draw on his career in rock music to develop a range of products for animal lovers who want something extra for their pets. Matt MCAdam, the vice president of merchandising for 'Pets Rock', said the company were inspired to work with Michaels after his successful charity work for diabetes and his appearances on reality show 'Life as I Know It'. MCAdam explained how Bret's range would fit into the market, saying, "Our pet parents have told us they want unique, high-quality products for their pets that are also fun and reflective of their personalities". The rocker was named the 'Celebrity Apprentice' winner in May 2010, beating actress Holly Robinson Peete in the series finale. The Poison star's range follows Martha Stewart's collection of pet wear she released in collaboration with 'PetSmart' in 2010.
Michaels has suffered from numerous health issues in recent years - filming on 'Life As I Know It' was temporarily suspended after he underwent surgery for a 'patent foramen ovale', or a 'hole in the heart'.
