Bret Michaels - Bret Michaels Opens Revamped Hospital Waiting Room
Rocker BRET MICHAELS has returned to the hospital in Phoenix, Arizona where he was treated for a brain haemorrhage in 2010 to open a hospitality room named in his honour.
The Poison frontman spent several weeks at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in April, 2010 after suffering bleeding on the brain, and he checked back into the facility again last year (11) to undergo an operation to fix a hole in his heart.
He later pledged to donate Tvs and a brand new sound system to the medical centre to help revamp the waiting room as a thank you to hospital staff, and after a year of construction, the Bret Michaels' Hospitality and Music Room was declared open on Tuesday (09Oct12).
The singer was on hand to celebrate the launch and he is overjoyed to have been able to give back and show his appreciation to the doctors and nurses who took such good care of him.
He says, "This is an incredible day for me. I'm thrilled to be able to give something back to the hospital that helped to save my life, and to the Barrow patients and their families.
"As someone who has spent his fair share of time in hospitals over the past few years, I know how necessary it is for both patients and their loved ones to have a fun, welcoming place to recharge - and I designed this music and hospitality room to be that place."
