Britney Spears may release new music in "a few weeks".

The 'Womanizer' hitmaker - who hasn't brought out a single since '3' in September 2009 - has been working on her seventh studio album since March and now producer Rodney Jerkins has hinted fans may hear the results of recording sessions soon.

He said: "Britney fans are gonna be so happy in a few weeks."

A release date for Britney's album, the follow up to 2008's 'Circus', has not yet been set.

However, producer Danja is another person to have worked with Britney on her forthcoming album and recently claimed the record was a long way off being finished.

Speaking about their recording sessions together, he said: "We're getting things together. I've actually been doing tracks that I love and I can't wait to go into full production mode, but we're in pre-production more so than anything. We can start one way and end up a totally different way, I really don't know.

"I'm definitely gonna do my part and try to make it hard-hitting, up-tempo, high-energy; that's what I think we need and that's what I'm gonna shoot for."
