Brooke Shields wanted to lose her virginity to George Michael.

The stunning star didn't have sex until she was 22 but she had been desperate for her first time to be with the singer when she dated him briefly in the 80s.

However, the pair never made it into the bedroom and George was revealed to be a homosexual when he was arrested on 7 April 1998 for ''engaging in a lewd act'' in a public toilet in a park in Beverly Hills, California.

During an appearance on US TV show 'The Talk', she revealed: ''My clothes were practically falling off me (when I was with him).''

The 'Club Tropicana' hitmaker instead ended their relationship telling Brooke he wanted to concentrate on his career.

The 'Blue Lagoon' actress - who also dated Michael Jackson, John Travolta and was married to Tennis legend Andre Agassi for two years until they split in April 1999 - now regrets waiting until she was in her 20s to have sex.

Brooke, 47, wishes she had just got it out of the way when she was in her late teens and moved on like most people do.

In an interview with Health magazine, she said: ''I think I should have lost my virginity earlier than I did at 22. I had the public and all this pressure, and I wish I had just gotten it over with in the beginning when it was sort of OK. I think I would have been much more in touch with myself. I think I wouldn't have had issues with weight - I carried this protective 20 pounds [in college]. It was all connected. And to me, that's a ... regret.''

Brooke has been married to television writer Chris Henchy for 11 years and the couple have two daughters, Rowan, nine, and Grier, six.
