Brown's Case To Go Ahead As Planned
Chris Brown has lost a second appeal to have his upcoming assault case delayed and the star will appear in court in Los Angeles on Monday (22Jun09) as planned.
The 20 year old star is due to attend a preliminary hearing in relation to an alleged domestic violence incident involving his ex-girlfriend Rihanna in February (09).
He has pleaded not guilty to one count of assault and one count of making criminal threats.
Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos, wanted the hearing pushed back to allow him and his team more time to prepare their case, but a Los Angeles Superior Court judge has denied the request - again.
The star's legal team then took their appeal to the state's supreme court in a final effort to delay the upcoming session - but their second attempt to move the date was rejected on Tuesday (17Jun09), according to Radar Online.
Geragos was reportedly hoping to for more time in his quest to identify the source of a leaked police photograph of a badly-bruised Rihanna, which made its way onto the Internet shortly after the former couple's alleged fight on the eve of the Grammy Awards.
The upcoming hearing will decide whether there is enough evidence to take the case to trial. Rihanna has been subpoenaed to face her ex in court.
