California Candidate For Governor Demands Time On Leno

California Democratic gubernatorial candidate Phil Angelides has complained that NBC's The Tonight Show With Jay Leno violated the FCC's Equal Time rules when it invited his opponent, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, to appear on the program Wednesday night without also inviting him. Angelides's communications director, Amanda Crumley, said in a statement, "As absentee ballots are currently hitting homes in California, the governor is getting what amounts to millions in free airtime from the network."
