Former Camel frontman Chris Rainbow has died, aged 68.
The Scottish singer, real name Christopher Harley, also recorded with Alan Parsons, who broke the news of his death in a post on his website on Thursday (26Feb15).
The Alan Parsons Project leader wrote, "It was with great sadness that I read today of the passing of Chris Rainbow. He was an amazing talent and an integral part of the Project sound... I will always remember his funny stories, his mimicking ability and his hilarious catchphrases. Sessions with him were always filled with laughter. I will miss him greatly."
Rainbow worked with the Alan Parsons Project on 1979′s Eve album, and joined the band for several recording sessions in the following decade until Parsons dissolved the group in 1988.
He also recorded and toured with Camel and appeared on solo albums recorded by Yes frontman Jon Anderson. He also tasted solo success in the late 1970s.
