The contestants on I'm A Celebrity¬Ö Get Me Out of Here! have grown tired of David Van Day's game playing while in the Australian jungle.

While David was taking part in a Celebrity Chest challenge with Simon Webbe, Martina Navratilova, Joe Swash and Nicola McLean let loose on David's behaviour.

"You know what does my head in the most with it?" Joe asked. "He has been here 14 days and for 14 days I've campaigned for him, I've stood up for him.

"I've helped him mingle into the group and then he wants to make me jealous - that's a really, really quite a low down thing to do."

The former Eastenders actor added: "I'm not going to say nothing to him, I'm just going to let ride."

Nicola added: "Some people like David are just so desperate for a career afterwards, it's last chance saloon for him."

Speaking later, Star Trek and Heroes actor George Takei dubbed David a "snake in the grass".

"I think David is basically that kind of person, a manipulator," he added.

"I'm so gullible George, I will believe anything anyone says to me," admitted Joe of David's behaviour in the week.

A clearly resigned Joe - the favourite to win the show - added: "You live and learn, don't you George?"

Joe had earlier successfully taken part in a vertigo-inducing Bushtucker Trial, winning all six stars.
