Carey Mulligan is set to star in a film written by Wentworth Miller.

The 'Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps' actress is reportedly in talks to join the cast of Fox Searchlight production 'Stoker', which has been penned by the 'Prison Break' actor.

Jodie Foster is also being lined up to appear in the film, which follows an eccentric teenager whose estranged uncle returns to the family after her father's death.

Scott Free is in negotiations to produce the movie, but no director is yet attached to the project.

It is unknown whether Wentworth also plans to take on an acting role in the film.

Carey recently admitted she used to pretend her mother had died so she could cry on camera.

She explained: "For a couple of years, I used to draw from my own experience, so I was imagining all sorts of terrible things because I had to cry a lot in costume dramas. I remember in 'Pride And Prejudice' I had to do a scene where I broke down. And before we filmed I spent like three hours imagining my mum's funeral. Actually, she's very much alive, happy and healthy. It was really horrible."
