Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon are expecting twins, according to a U.S. tabloid report.
The R&B superstar has failed to put a stop to rumours she is pregnant with her first child after she was spotted leaving a fertility clinic in Los Angeles last month (May10).
Carey further fuelled the reports by mysteriously dropping out of Tyler Perry's upcoming movie, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf.
Her representative revealed the decision was based on medical reasons, stating, "She is not doing the movie because her doctor advised her not to. More than that I cannot comment further."
Now the National Enquirer reports the Hero hitmaker is expecting a double bundle of joy.
An insider tells the publication, "Mariah is gushing that she's going to have twins. Mariah and Nick both want a big family."
And Carey has already begun to scale back her work commitments to prepare for motherhood, starting with Perry's film. The source adds, "Mariah told her handlers that she's taking an unofficial family time break, and she's keeping her work load light for the rest of the year."
The singer has been dogged by pregnancy reports ever since she wed Cannon two years ago (08) - and last year (09) the couple turned to top designer Kenneth Bordewick to help style a nursery for the new Los Angeles-area home Carey and Cannon bought.
