Carl Barat is ''sure'' The Libertines will perform together again.

The 'Time For Heroes' hitmakers - Carl, Pete Doherty, Gary Powell and John Hassall - have not shared a stage since their one-off comeback shows at the Reading and Leeds festivals in 2010 and though they have no definite touring plans, Carl won't rule out more gigs in the future.

He said: ''Never say never. Yeah, I'm sure we'll do Libertines or something at some point.''

In the meantime, Carl is currently focused on his acting career and is particularly excited about a potential project with 'Lust for Life' hitmaker Iggy Pop, who is also known for appearing in advertisements for insurance firm Swiftcover.

Carl told Absolute Radio: ''Well actually, the thing I'm most excited about I'm still auditioning for so I really can't say, but Iggy Pop's in it. It's another advert for one of those car insurance. No, no, it's not. No, it's a film, it's a film.''

Pete has previously claimed he doesn't think Carl trusts him anymore.

In new documentary film 'There are no Innocent Bystanders', he said of his bandmate: ''He doesn't trust me and hasn't trusted me for a long time, and as far as I can tell it's too late to do anything about it.''

Carl understands Pete - who was sacked from the band in 2004 due to his drug use, with the band briefly continuing without him before splitting the same year - is upset at what happened between them but is adamant his mistrust is unfounded.

He added: ''Pete, for understandable reasons is still very hurt about what's gone on. And I believe he doubts my love for the band and for all of it.''

When asked if this was true, Carl replied: ''No, it's really silly, and I wish he wouldn't. I am hurt by it. It's difficult.''
