Carmen Electra has been selected to replace Amanda Holden on 'Britain's Got Talent' with the long-serving judge recently having given birth. The news may come as a surprise to many who hadn't even considered the former 'Baywatch' actress as a potential replacement candidate, but the reports are that the 39 year-old has actually been hand picked by show boss Simon Cowell, and will now take her place alongside other judges David Walliams and Alesha Dixon to create an all new judging panel with only Cowell left from the first series.
Electra can't be too assured of her place on the 'Bgt' team however, with the UK's Daily Mirror newspaper reporting that she'll have three days to impress Cowell at the Hammersmith Apollo starting today, February 6th. A source said "Simon took a fancy to Carmen and decided to fly her over. She looks great and is very opinionated, but there is a concern from some of the Bgt production crew that she will not be the most familiar face to all the viewers. But as usual, what Simon says, he usually gets."
It's thought that Electra impressed Cowell during her brief stint judging as a guest on the talent show 'So You Think You Can Dance' in the US. Should she take up the role here it won't be permanent, with Holden expected to return for the Edinburgh auditions.
