Carrie Underwood gave back to her Oklahoma hometown over the holidays by raising $350,000 (Gbp218,750) for educational improvements through her new charity.
The country star recently launched the Checotah Animal, Town, and School (C.A.T.S.) Foundation in a bid to honour her roots and now students and school teachers are singing her praises after receiving a large donation from the group over the holiday season.
Each of the four schools in the district will have access to the funds, and planning bosses hope to build better computer labs, buy new playground equipment, and purchase band uniforms and instruments for their music programme.
The Before He Cheats hitmaker says, "Late last year (11) each of the schools created a list of their needs and I am so thrilled that the C.A.T.S. Foundation was able to fund it all. It gives me great joy knowing we are helping my hometown schools to offer an even better education to the students. They deserve it."
