Carrie Underwood returns with her fourth studio album 'Blown Away' on Tuesday (May 1, 2012) - her first record in almost three years. Instead of falling into the trap of touring, recording, touring and recording, Underwood is keen to spend time with her husband Mike Fisher and doesn't envisage herself playing live dates until late 2012.
During an interview with TasteofCountry.com, Underwood speaks in-depth about the inspiration behind her new record and hints that some of it is influenced by a break-up. When asked whether the album is autobiographical, Carrie explained, "Definitely. 'Good in Goodbye' is one. I feel like everybody can relate to this in some way. You have those people in your life that were such a huge part of your life at one point. And you love this guy or this girl or whatever, and at the time, when it all ended, it seemed like the worst thing in the world, like you were never gonna recover". When probed on who 'that person' was, Underwood remained coy, saying, "I never would want to mess with anyone's life at this point. I feel like as a writer every song is loosely based on somebody or very not loosely based on someone. But I don't know. I would never do that to somebody".
The singer was rumored to be dating Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo in 2006 and the Nfl star actually confirmed the news on his website at the time. She later began dating Chace Crawford of the American series 'Gossip Girl' though their relationship is thought to have ended in 2008.
