Hollywood actress Catherine Zeta-Jones has checked into a mental health facility to seek treatment for bipolar disorder.
The Chicago star has endured a tough year after supporting her husband Michael Douglas through his throat cancer battle following his diagnosis last summer (10).
Douglas was given the all-clear earlier this year (11), but the pressure of dealing with the illness has taken its toll on the Welsh beauty and she decided to turn to professionals to combat a serious bout of depression.
Sources tell Tmz.com the 41 year old was recently admitted to Silver Hill Hospital in Connecticut, but her spokesperson insists Zeta-Jones is on the road to recovery and is eager to get back to work.
The representative tells People.com, "After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check in to a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her Bipolar II disorder.
"She's feeling great and looking forward to starting work this week on her two upcoming films."
