Cbs Eyes Hulu
CBS is not going to become a fourth owner of Hulu, joining the parents of rival networks ABC, NBC, and Fox in the online video venture, but it has reached a non-exclusive agreement to license its library of old shows to Hulu's subscription service, Hulu Plus, beginning in January. Included in The Deal are more than 2,600 episodes of CBS shows, dating back to the original I Love Lucy episodes. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. In a statement, Andy Forssell, senior VP of content for Hulu, said, CBS has a long history of producing truly great TV. Hulu Plus subscribers are entertainment lovers who spend their time watching shows they love, versus shows they might only just like. Those two facts make for a fantastic combination, because this collection of CBS titles are shows that people revere and that really matter to fans of great TV like our subscribers. Online viewers wanting to see more recent CBS shows will have to continue to visit CBS's own website.
