Charlie Sheen hopes Tv bosses behind Two And A Half Men eventually invite him back because he wants to appear in the show's final episode.

The actor was fired from the hit sitcom in 2011 after publicly feuding with show bosses, who cited his bizarre antics and wild behaviour for their decision to let him go.

Sheen's character was killed off and Ashton Kutcher was drafted in to fill the gap, but the Hot Shots star hopes producers will find a way to bring him back for the grand finale.

He tells U.S. Tv host David Letterman, "I would like to go back, I would like to appear in their final episode."

When Letterman points out that the death of Sheen's character may pose a problem, the star retorts, "I am dead, but so's the show."

The show is far from dead. The 9th season was sort of a train wreck as they wrestled with storylines for Ashton that just didn't work. This season however they've gotten it right. The most recent story arc involving Walden becoming Sam was an angle they could have never explored with Sheen. Charlie would lie to get into a girl's pants but he wouldn't go so far as to get a job and live the poor life to that extreme. He also wouldn't be wracked with guilt. It's nice to have someone in the lead role who actually gives a damn about people. Charlie was fun for sure but it was a very tired show only a few years in. It's much easier to care about what happens to Walden and nearly impossible to care about Charlie. I wouldn't mind him coming back for the series finally at the very end say discovering he didn't really die and Rose had been keeping him hostage for several years or something like that. Sheen should admit though the show is doing more than fine without him.
