Charlie Sheen - Charlie Sheen's 'Roast' To Air Same Night As Ashton Kutcher's Debut
Charlie Sheen is set to be "roasted" by the Comedy Central network for a special taping in Los Angeles in September. The network is yet to announce the line-up for the show, but the actor has expressed his delight at the plans, promising an "epic" roast, reports US Weekly.
In an ironic twist, the show will air on 19th September 2011, the same night that Ashton Kutcher makes his debut as Sheen's replacement on Cbs' 'Two and a Half Men'. The 'roast' will feature a number of celebrities taking aim at Sheen's recent antics, in the hope that the actor takes the jibes in good humour. The 45-year-old said, "You could say I've been providing kindling for this Roast for a while. It's time to light it up. It's going to be epic". Sheen has certainly provided Comedy Central's 'roasters' with enough material over recent months - he was fired from his hit sitcom after publically attacking producer Chuck Lorre, quickly being replaced by Kutcher. Recent stars to be 'roasted' include Donald Trump, David Hasselhoff and Joan Rivers.
Charlie Sheen is rumoured to be close to agreeing a deal to star in a new sitcom to air in 2012. The actor will reportedly play a character similar to his 'Charlie Harper' creation on 'Two and Half Men'.
