Charlotte Church wants to be successful in her career but will always put her two children first.
Charlotte Church puts motherhood before her career.
The Welsh singer split from rugby player fiance Gavin Henson - with who she has two children, three-year-old Ruby and Dexter, 21 months - in May and admitted that raising happy, well-adjusted children is harder to do with a busy workload.
She said: "You've got to space it out and realise what's more important to you. A lot of women will say 'I've got to work six days a week because I want to provide a better house or food for my children' but from my point of view I want to work and I want to make my new album a success but ultimately I want to be a good mother and I want to have children that have no or at least minimal issues.
"I want to look after them as best I can for most of the time and that's what's important to me."
Charlotte - who is now dating singer/songwriter Jonathan Powell - also revealed neither she nor Gavin is particularly strict with the children but they do have rules and boundaries for the youngsters.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I don't think I'll ever be very strict. I'm not very strict anyway, I'm a bit of a hippy. I'm just all about love. Gavin's kind of the same, we try and discipline them as much as we can but I don't necessarily think that always needs to be done through the old fashioned forms of aggression."
Although her children are still young, 24-year-old Charlotte thinks they are already showing signs of following in their famous parents' footsteps.
She explained: "They both love music and they both sing. They both run around the place, they can both dropkick a ball but it's a bit too early to tell. I wouldn't necessarily encourage them either way just because that's what me or their father do."
