Cher Lloyd's long awaited debut album 'Sticks + Stones' has been released in the UK today (7th November 2011), the 2010 'X Factor UK' fourth placer expecting to do well in the charts despite a mixed reaction from the press. Lloyd already has a UK number one under her belt, taking top spot in the summer with 'Swagger Jagger', while last month's 'With Ur Love' - featuring U.S singer Mike Prosner - also breached the top five.
Speaking about the release, the 18 year old singer told Digital Spy of her pride in the album - despite a much hyped collaboration with Black Eyed Peas member Will.I.AM failing to make the final track listing. "You know as much as I know [about why it didn't make the album]," Lloyd told the entertainment site, "but the album isn't missing a spark without it". Instead Lloyd was keen to point out the eclectic qualities of her full length debut, stating, "It's like a jukebox. Everything is very different. Me and my team created this album for one purpose and that is for people to be able to listen to the whole thing without skipping a track".
The star went on to add "I've done it myself with albums in the past - there has only been one song I've enjoyed on an album I've been listening to. With mine, my aim was to make every song as strong as the one before it."
