Pop veteran Cher has teamed up with hip-hop superproducer Timbaland for an unlikely collaboration.
The Believe hitmaker is eyeing a comeback with her first new album in 11 years and recently thrilled fans by confirming plans to hit the road once again for her last ever tour.
Now she has taken to Twitter.com to announce another surprise - she is recording a Timbaland song for her upcoming album.
In a tweet posted on Monday (30Jul12), Cher writes, "Doing Timbaland's song 2nite (tonight), it's great..."
The singer also gave followers an insight into her recording process, admitting she likes her trips to the studio to be as speedy as possible.
She added, "Worked hard last nite (sic)! I go in & sing for 90 min... Don't like sitting down till song is finished! Usually I can ace 1 song. Turn Back Time (took) 90 min (sic)! I'm fast! Many artists take a lot of time, but more time wouldn't make my vocals better.
"Don't mean 2 (to) sound pompous, it's the only way I know! Believe (was the) worst time ever in studio!! That's why we used Pitch MAChine (Auto-Tune software)! It just wasn't working."
Lady Gaga and Pink have also written tracks for Cher's eighth studio album, scheduled for release in December (12).
