Cher is selling her Los Angeles condo for $5.5 million.

The 'Believe' hitmaker has listed her 4,000-square-foot home in the exclusive Sierra Towers in west Hollywood and is hoping to sell the luxury apartment for $1 million than she paid for it, reports TMZ.

The 66-year-old singer bought the condo - which is said to be the only two-storey home in the building - for $4.5 million in 2006, but completely redesigned it before moving in.

The lavish penthouse boasts an outdoor terrace, 24-hour concierge service, a gym, pool, sun deck and breathtaking panoramic views.

Sierra Towers has also been home to A-listers including Sir Elton John, Courteney Cox and Joan Collins.

It was recently revealed that the singer is currently writing and producing a period drama set in 1960s Hollywood with Ron Zimmerman for US TV network Logo, and may co-star in the project.

Logo's senior vice president of programming Brent Zacky said: ''We read some of the stuff that Cher and Ron had written and it was really terrific. The deal is brand-new and we're just getting started on the project. We're very carefully and hopefully diligently taking a few shots in this arena and we'll see how it pans out. We're certainly excited to be in business with an icon like Cher.''
