Cheryl Cole dressed up in her fanciest clothes to watch the Royal Wedding.

The 'Fight for This Love' singer and her Girls Aloud bandmate Kimberley Walsh co-hosted a tea party to celebrate the nuptials of Prince William and Catherine Middleton in April and Cheryl says she wanted to look her best even though she was only watching it on TV.

She said: "I made all the sandwiches; egg mayo and bacon bits, cucumber and ham . I even cut the crusts off. My brother brought down some pease pudding from Newcastle and we also had stottie bread. We took it as an excuse to eat all day - it was a disgrace and we all felt sick that night.

"I got all dressed up like I was going, because it's history! I was a baby when Charles and Diana got married, but this is something you'll want to tell your kids about and say, 'Look at what me and Auntie Kimberley were doing when William and Kate got married."

Cheryl says she's closet to Kimberley out of all of her bandmates and the pair spend a lot of time together.

The pop beauty - who is also joined in the girl group by Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding and Nicola Roberts - said: "All the girls from Girls Aloud are good friends, but I live near Kimberley, so I make her jog round to mine, then I reward her with cups of tea. That's fair enough, right?"
