Representatives for Chris Brown and Drake have shot down reports suggesting the two rivals have agreed to step into the boxing ring for a big-money fight night.
Website HollyScoop.com released the incredible news on Friday (10Aug12), reporting the hitmakers had agreed to "punch it out" during three one-minute rounds as part of a charity match at the Mgm Grand Casino in Las Vegas.
According to the report, the fight would be a "grudge match" following an infamous brawl between Brown and Drake's entourages at the W.i.P nightclub in New York in June (12).
The website reported basketball player Tony Parker, who was hurt in the fight and is currently suing the club, would referee the match on 22 September (12).
Drake’s rep was even quoted in the story as stating his client would "end it (fight) in two rounds", while a source close to Brown simply told HollyScoop.com it would be "a great fight".
But the two stars' publicists have urged fans not to be duped by the news and by tickets that reportedly go on sale this coming week.
Brown's rep tells RumorFix.com, "This is a sad attempt at PR for the people who were/are promoting it."
And a source close to Drake adds, "The story is false!"
The website has since learned promoter Damon Feldman has signed look-a-likes to step in and represent the two stars in the ring on 22 September (12). Feldman has reportedly offered Brown and Drake $5 million (£3.1 million) each to consider a fight.
