Chris Brown - Chris Brown Logged Community Service Hours At His Old Daycare Centre
The Kiss Kiss hitmaker was placed on five years' probation and ordered to complete six months of community service after he was convicted of beating Rihanna on the eve of the Grammy Awards three years ago.
A U.S. judge recently ordered a more thorough review of his work log to determine whether he had violated the terms of his probation by failing to properly fulfil the punishment, and now newly-released documents reveal Brown completed 508 hours at the Tappahannock Children's Center, where his mum once served as director and where the singer was looked after as a young boy, on and off, for 12 years.
The singer spent most of his time doing general cleaning, painting walls, and waxing floors after-hours, and facility administrator Ida Minter insists the 23 year old was a dedicated volunteer.
He tells the Associated Press, "I think Chris always goes beyond because he always wants to give back to where he grew up. And this was a part of his home because his mum worked here full-time. If you've ever been involved in stripping and waxing (floors), it's hard. It's a lot of work."
And the star, who finished the remainder of his hours doing odd jobs throughout the town, even left his mark at the centre by hand-painting a colourful clown mural on the building's wall.
Brown will return to court on 1 November (12) for an updated progress report hearing.
