Chris Brown - Chris Brown's New Album 'Fortune' Set For UK No.1
The UK album buying public are set to give a thumbs up to the redemption of Chris Brown after he brawled his way to an unsanctioned victory over then-girlfriend Rihanna in a domestic abuse case back in 2009. Widely condemned since then by the media, the road back for Brown has nevertheless been somewhat annoyingly easy, with the music industry seeing his infamy as a thing to exploit rather than punish and so the 22 year-old finds himself back with a new album 'Fortune' that, though widely panned by the critics, looks set to go to the top of the British album charts this weekend.
Brown is competing against fellow Americans Maroon 5, whose 'Overexposed' is sitting at second spot in the midweek charts, according to MTV while Linkin Park's 'Living Things' sits in third after topping the charts last weekend. An expected re-entry comes from Manchester's Stone Roses after their huge trio of comeback gigs in their home town at the weekend, the 'Very Best Of' collection is in the top 10.
With the success of his fifth album looking imminent, Brown took to Twitter to thank his fans, writing "Thx to all my fans... You guys are amazing beyond belief! I love y'all." It looks like he really is back, whether people like it or not.
