THE AVENGERS star Chris Evans has paid tribute to a five-year-old boy who lost his battle with cancer on Wednesday (17Oct12).
The Hollywood actor, best known for playing Captain America, was moved to hear about superhero fan and cancer patient Ty Louis Campbell, who was just two years old when doctors discovered a tumour at the base of his skull.
Campbell's mother Cindy detailed the youngster's cancer fight in a blog she named Super Ty after his obsession with comic book heroes, and Evans took to his Twitter.com page on Thursday (18Oct12) to honour the youngster for his bravery.
He writes, "Sending my condolences to the family of Ty Louis Campbell, a brave 5-year-old boy who lost his battle with cancer. I only wish I heard about this warrior sooner. I would have loved to shake his hand."
