Chris Martin won't be seeing his Coldplay bandmates over Christmas.

The group's frontman - who has two children, Apple, seven, and five-year-old Moses, with actress wife Gwyneth Paltrow - says Guy Berryman, Will Champion and Jonny Buckland are among his best friends but they don't like to socialise that often away from group commitments.

He said: "We're best friends who never hang out with each other except for 10 hours a day when we're working."

The 'Paradise' singer also revealed he struggles to come up with Christmas present ideas for his bandmates.

He said: "I'm the worst at buying presents. I simply don't know what kind of Lego they want."

As for his plans for 2012, Chris says he just wants Coldplay's success although has promised not to swear as much.

The musician - who is currently on the band's acclaimed 'Mylo Xyloto Tour' - said: "I think it's getting older and wanting to soak it all up while it's happening rather than thinking ahead. The only thing I am sure of is I won't be swearing as much next year. My swearing has been terrible recently. I'm sorry to everyone. But we're all very happy. It's been a great year for Coldplay and we just hope it continues."
