Chris Rock 's 'Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted' song has become a massive YouTube hit, having scored over 750,000 views on the video sharing site. Rock seemed less than impressed with the statistic, though, when he was talking to Usa Today's Ann Curry, pointing out that the song might be popular but it won't be making him rich off You Tube plays. "Pays me in smiles," joked Rock. "I can starve on smiles."
Rock also made an uncomfortable jibe about the US president during his promotional chat about the animated movie, which Curry seemed reluctant to respond to. When asked which animal he would choose to be, the comedian side-stepped the obvious choice of being the lion, king of the jungle and instead opted for the zebra, joking that he would do it "in honor of our zebra president, black and white, white and black. I love our president but he's black and white, he appeals to all." Curry didn't respond, choosing instead to try to change the subject, possibly thinking that race politics weren't the most appropriate backdrop for selling a kids' movie to the US public.
The movie, out later this year, also stars Ben Stiller, David Schwimmer and Jada Pinkett-Smith. Rock also revealed that his children were taking around 20 of their friends to the movie's premier in a pink limousine and that he fully expected them to "ignore daddy" throughout the screening.
