Christian Lacroix will create an affordable capsule collection for women and and children in collaboration with French brand, Petit Bateau.
Christian Lacroix is making a fashion comeback.
The iconic fashion designer - who left his eponymous brand in 2010 after filing for bankruptcy - has teamed up with French brand Petit Bateau and the Paris Opera to create an affordable capsule collection for women and children.
The line will be available in all Petit Bateau stores and the Opéra Garnier boutique in Paris from December 6, WWD reports.
While it has yet to be confirmed what role the Paris Opera will play in the collaboration, it's likely the collection could have a theatrical twist as Lacroix previously designed costumes for their ballet 'La Source' back in 2011.
Lacroix created 77 etherial looks for the show, using two million Swarovski crystals, and the delicate pieces were subsequently exhibited in the French capital's National Costume Museum.
The 62-year-old designer was forced to leave his fashion house three years ago and the business was reduced to a licensing operation. He has since managed to build an extensive portfolio by designing exhibitions, hotels and stage costumes, in addition to creating capsule collections for stores such as Spanish brand Desigual in 2011.
