Christina Hendricks has joined the cast of 'Struck by Lightening'.

The 'Mad Men' star will star alongside Dermot Mulroney and Sarah Hyland in the movie, written by and featuring 'Glee' actor Chris Colfer.

The movie is a flashback from the perspective of a young man, played by Chris, who is struck and killed by lightening.

Principal photography is already underway on the project, which is being directed by Brian Dannelly.

Commenting on the cast, Brian said: "We're so thrilled to begin filming this story that really captures the trials and tribulations of coming into your own.

"We've got a phenomenal cast on board and Chris' script is so smart, fresh and funny, but also has such heart.

"I'm excited to help tell this coming-of-age story that I think will resonate with young audiences, and all of us who've survived adolescence."

Alongside Chris - who was yesterday nominated for an Emmy for his role as gay character Kurt Hummel in 'Glee', just after it was announced he would be finishing his run on the show at the end of season three - other stars of the film include Angela Kinsey and Polly Bergen.

The movie does not yet have a planned release date.

Christina Hendricks will next be seen in 'I Don't Know How She Does It' alongside Sarah Jessica Parker and Pierce Brosnan.
