Warner Bros. studio boss Jeff Robinov has denied that Christopher Nolan will produce the upcoming Justice League movie.
Christopher Nolan won't produce 'Justice League'.
Warner Bros. president Jeff Robinov has denied that the 'Dark Knight' trilogy director will oversee the studio's proposed superhero team-up movie and has also denied that Batman actor Christian Bale will be involved.
Asked whether the rumours were true, he told Entertainment Weekly: ''No, no it's not.''
The studio boss confirmed that Warner Bros.' will be looking to bring more DC Comics superheroes to life on the big screen - in a similar way to how Marvel launched its successful 'Avengers' franchise - and its plans will begin coming to fruition with this summer's Superman reboot film 'Man of Steel', starring Henry Cavill and directed by Zack Snyder.
He explained: ''It's setting the tone for what the movies are going to be like going forward. In that, it's definitely a first step.
''We'll announce something in the next several weeks that will hopefully position the DC characters and the movies we're going to be making.''
However, fans shouldn't expect to see Bale's Batman appear involved in the franchise, explaining that 'The Dark Knight' trilogy is a ''standalone'' film series.
The Christopher Nolan-directed movies were rooted in reality and thus, it would be difficult to explain the introduction of superheroes with magical powers into his incarnation of Gotham City.
Robinov commented: ''I think you'll see that, going forward, anything can live in this world. Nolan's Batman was deliberately and smartly positioned as a standalone. The world they lived in was very isolated without any knowledge of any other superheroes. What Zack and Chris have done with this film is allow you to really introduce other characters into the same world.''
