Claire Danes, the American actress who won a Golden Globe in January, is pregnant with her first child. She and actor husband Hugh Dancy announced the news to People magazine.
The 'Homeland' actress had hinted at wanting children last fall, saying, "There's definitely a chance, no plans yet.But yeah, that'd be fun". However, it's now becoming very real for the Hollywood couple, who will welcome their first child early next year. As yet, there's no official comment from Homeland's production company, though a Fox 21 spokesman says that Danes' pregnancy will not impact on the production of season two of the show, which is set to premiere on Showtime, September 30, 2012. The drama series - loosely based on the Israeli series 'Hatufium - follows central intelligence agency officer Carrie Mathison (Danes) who comes to believe that a U.S Marine briefly held captive by Al-Qaeda has been turned by the enemy and now threatens the United States. Her strong performance was immediately picked up on by critics, and she scooped the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television Series.
Danes married actor Hugh Dancy in a private ceremony in France back in 2009. He is best known for his stand-out performance in indie-flick 'Adam', as well as appearing alongside Paul Rudd in 'My Idiot Brother'.
