Friends of former GUNS N' ROSES star GILBY CLARKE have taken to the internet to appeal for help finding the driver involved in the star's recent road collision, which left him with two broken legs.
The musician was out riding his motorbike through Sherman Oaks, California on Sunday (10Jan10) when a car turned in front of him, sending him smashing into the side of the vehicle. The other driver allegedly failed to stop after the accident.
Clarke was admitted to hospital and has undergone surgery in a bid to repair his shattered limbs.
His wife, Daniella Clarke, has posted a series of messages on her Twitter.com page expressing her anger over the incident.
She writes, "While Gilby can't walk, since both legs (are) broken, the idiot that hit him and left is walking around somewhere with no guilt for what he did."
And Clarke's friend, U.S. radio host Riki Rachtman, has used posts on his Twitter.com page to urge anyone with information about the crash to come forward.
He writes, "He was riding south on Woodman and at the intersection of Moorpark, some idiot turned left right in front of him. Gilby hit the passenger side of the vehicle. The driver took off. Here is what we know so far. (The vehicle was a pickup) truck, light colour tan perhaps silver. There was a male driver and possibly a female passenger (who) could be Hispanic, but not sure. The truck looked fairly new and has damage on the passenger side."
