Clint Black - Clint Black Planning Chart Return
Country star Clint Black is preparing to make a return to the charts with his first new album since 2005.
The Nothin' but the Taillights singer's last record, Drinkin' Songs and Other Logic, hit retailers in 2005 via his own Equity Music Group, but the label has since been shut down and now he's looking for a new home.
He tells Billboard.com, "I'm wrapping up an album right now, and am talking with a record company. I haven't been affiliated with one in a while... I don't know what the record companies' schedules are, but I would really love to get something out."
Black spent his time away from the spotlight working on a new theatre show called Aussie Adventure and he reveals he has high hopes for the project, which is nearing completion.
He says, "I was hired to write the songs, so I've been working on that for quite a while. It's a Broadway-style show that would tour arenas... but it's more of an equestrian show - 30 to 35 horses, a bunch of country dancing, and a stage play that is set on a ranch in Australia in 1901."
His plans for 2013 come at the end of a sad time for Black, who lost his father, G.A. Black, on Sunday (02Dec12).
The singer cancelled an appearance at a concert in Chumuckla, Florida on Saturday (01Dec12) to spend time with his dad.
