George Clooney will testify in a Milan, Italy court later this month (Jul10) as part of a fraud trial involving three men accused of using the actor's name for a fashion label.
The case dates back to April, 2008, when a trio of men allegedly took Clooney's name and used it for a planned fashion show at a Milan hotel.
The group was accused of fraud, forgery and possession of stolen goods. The names of the accused had not been released as WENN went to press.
Clooney's lawyer Grazia Maria Mantelli has confirmed the actor will testify as a civil plaintiff on 16 July (10).
Meanwhile, presiding judge Pietro Caccialanza insists he will ensure extra security measures are taken to make sure the trial goes smoothly while the Hollywood star is present.
Caccialanza tells the ANSA news agency, "There will be a lot of people, I imagine." He also promised to give Clooney's fans a chance "to come close to their hero".
