Coldplay, Eminem and Beyonce are among the chart-topping acts whose tracks have been reworked by African musicians for a new charity compilation.
Mumford & Sons, Red Hot Chili Peppers, R.E.M., Cee Lo Green and Bruno Mars have also had their songs fused with performances from traditional African vocalists for the Rhythms Del Mundo collection.
Proceeds raised from album sales will benefit Artists Project Earth (Ape), which funds reforestation projects and wetland conservation efforts, and aims to raise awareness of climate change.
A 2006 Cuban-inspired Rhythms Del Mundo CD featured revamped songs by Arctic Monkeys, U2, Sting, Jack Johnson, Franz Ferdinand and Kaiser Chiefs, among others.
