Former Audioslave and Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell has dismissed reports he's in secret negotiations to take over Robert Plant's role in Led Zeppelin.
The supergroup is reportedly planning to hit the road in 2009 without Plant, who wants no part of a reunion tour - and Cornell has been listed among the hopefuls who could step in for the Kashmir rocker.
But he insists, "I have not been approached so far to fill in for Robert Plant on the upcoming Zeppelin tour, but that isn't to say I won't be."
He tells MTV News, "I've heard that from about 200 people now, and it might be one of those situations where it's just an online rumour or it might be true. But if you see anyone from Led Zeppelin around, let me know."
Last week (ends31Oct08), Billboard.com reported Alter Bridge star Myles Kennedy was the clear favourite to front Led Zeppelin when founder members Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones toured with late drummer John Bonham's son Jason toured.
